What are the big differences between degree and Masters level?

I still think the biggest jump in difficulty was between GCSE and A-level though, but I don't know if that is still the case with all the changes that have happened to these.

I have to concur. I found my A Levels very hard ... infact I put the same amount of effort into my GCSE and A Levels and ended up getting v. good GCSEs and shocking A Level results. I had to beg my way into my 1st choice uni as I didn't get the points. Ended up with a 2:1 - it required a different way of working but I enjoyed the environment which helped me achieve an upper class. The sandwich year out made me grow up a bit which gave me additional motivation in the final year to get better marks. My masters really didn't push me that much, infact I felt I had lots of time to do things ... my final year of the undergraduate required so much time management, to juggle coursework, finals preparation and dissertation in one go.

My masters was a simple 9 months taught course with coursework and the odd exam, followed by 3-4 months of disseration with nothing else to handle. Not some cheap uni here - Lancaster Management School (one of two 6 star management schools in the country).

My view though is that you get what you want out of the MSc, you can just go in for the paper at the end if you want but if you put some additional effort in, you will leave with more knowledge and better skills. I think that is one of the differences between undergrad and masters - it's more down to the individual on what you get out of it.
