AOL/TalkTalk Line Rental, Not as cheap as you think!, Deception!

OK, so been with AOL for 11 years and for about 2 years now on their £9.99 a month package with unlimited calls and unlimited broadband. With the VAT rise it's now £10.20 a month.
There are adverts flying around to switch your Line Rental to them, and that it's only £11.99 a month.
Great I thought, Give them a ring. They'll take the line rental over from BT and I'll be able to pay them £11.99 rather than pay BT £13.60, bills are all in one place and I'll save a few pounds.
WRONG
Ring them up, AOL tell me this cannot be done because transferring line rental to them is not compatible with my current package. I need to either downgrade my broadband package or start paying for the unlimited download add on at £5 a month and another £4.99 for the unlimited calls. But the basic charge for broadband will reduce to £7.20 a month and a new 18 month contract will apply.
So currently £10.20 for BB & Anytime calls + £13.60 to BT = £23.80
Switch Line rental to AOL is £7.50+£5+£4.99+£11.99 = £29.48
Absolute garbage!. I love how the adverts are worded that you will save money.
You more than likely won't!.
Customer representitive tried saying that for the extra cost you get inclusive calls to 0845/0870 and caller display.
Still poor value!. 11 years I've been a customer of AOL's, I doubt I will be with them much longer when they pull stunts like this!. I am blaming TalkTalk as well because lets face it AOL is TalkTalk in all but name, when I was on hold they even played the TalkTalk music.

Also considering a complaint to ASA
the advert at www.aolbroadbandoffers.co.uk states:
We’re always looking for ways to improve our service and save our members money, which is why we’re giving you the chance to have your line rental with us.
Combine your calls and line rental with your current AOL Broadband package and you could save up to £64 compared to BT†.
I was told it is not possible to combine with my current package, and also she said she couldn't find the offer of 2 months free line rental either.
Shoddy & false advertising!0
