Alternative Transport Methods

Apart from the obvious bus, car, taxi, train, bike (powered or not) is anybody here using alternative modes of transport?

I'm thinking things like:

road legal electric scooters / buggies / trikes / etc - if there are such a thing?

There's a guy in our area who uses one of those electric buggies on the main road... no idea if it's legal (I presume it is) but it doesn't look very safe :-/
