I need to go london - Birmingham. does anyone know the cheapest way of doing this please. Im SKINT.

Chiltern railways do £5 e-tickets (https://www.chilternrailways.com) or virgin are doing £7 tickets (https://www.virgintrains.co.uk - select the printathome link on the left) chiltern also do a walkup £15 fare & virgin have lots of advanced fare specials.
National express & megabus have tickets starting from a quid, but can be quite hard to secure at peak times!
