Powergen billing

I have just changed over to Powergen for Gas and Electricity. They rang me to inform me that my monthly gas Direct Debit would be £15.
As i have moved from British Gas,they send me a credit for £98,and on a recent letter from them, they said my monthly DD would now have been £11 instead of £17.50 that i was paying before the move.
How can i get Powergen to reduce the monthly DD as i have obviously been overpaying?
Can i send regular meter readings myself?

I have an online Powergen account and have sent meter readings in myself online. It's very easy - I don't know if you can do it with a normal account but it's worth a try!
If you overpay you just end up with a credit. I'm in credit at the moment but I thought it's probably worth waiting to see how it balances out across a year, then hopefully the payments will drop.0 -
Thanks.
Mine is an online account also, but because it's so new,the details are still in progress,so i don't know what you can or cannot do.
How often do you send readings, every quarter?Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0 -

There doesn't appear to be any set period that you need to send in readings.
You can also change the amount you pay each month via the website.0 -
