She may do but there's the chance that any buyer will do that, at least with a NPB she gets 2 in a 12 months & she will have barred herself from bidding on most peoples auctions.
Since 30th March I've had 9 people try to bid on my items who couldn't because they have more than 2 unpaid strikes & I'm only a small private seller. I've probably only listed 40 things in that time. Ok I may have got a little more money for some things or sold something that went unsold but I've only had 1 non payer that went to a strike in several years.

I think you may be slightly over paranoid if you think that any buyer would consider doing that to every ebay purchase they make.

Trouble is the buyer may well just pay with paypal then do a snad. ( it's clear she doesn't want the shoes) Possibly damaging them to support her case. Costs to her are about the same ; pay the fees or pay return postage

I don't think that, I was just pointing out to the above poster that any buyer could damage goods & claim SNAD.
The above poster seems to think that a NPB strike shouldn't be opened as the buyer obviously doesn't want the shoes & could damage them.
If we all thought like that we'd never open NPB's then ebay would fall down, as a seller you would never know whether the item you have sold will be paid for. As a buyer the costs would go up to make up for the lost listing & FVF's.
If I believed that every buyer was out to rip me off I wouldn't bother selling anything on ebay.

I'm with hermum on this one, I wouldn't rollover and let someone walk all over me just in case they turned out to be malicious. Get a full NPB in and get these time wasters effectively banned from buying anything in future.

Thanks everyone. I sent her an email yesterday afternoon saying that I sold the trainers because I need the money and that it has become quite inconvenient. I started by asking her if she got the money request and asked her to pay it within 24 hours otherwise I would open a NPB. I felt that because I had interacted with her in the first place and she had 100% feedback (which I know doesn't mean much as a buyer) that I should give her a chance, but almost hoping she doesn't pay now.
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be

I just think a snad is a far more likely outcome in this case than average.
Just to be devils advocate ( don't have a go - it's not a point I agree with) the buyer may feel she has been fair in offering to make good any losses in fees etc. She has choice of doing snad (easy) or having all the trouble of relisting, risking getting a lower price; She has to post them anyway with new buyer or snad

Except the offer of paying the fees has thus far been just that, an offer. She hasn't come good on it.

So what woudl you do with this then? OP has sent a money request for fees which buyer is ignoring. Are you proposing that OP walks away and pays all the fees and lets the buyer just go on her merry way to do it to more of us?

    Really?

Wrote my previous post before i had read bettyboos last post ( yes it did take 10 minutesto write - distracted getting kids ready for school)
Is there not the option of accepting the fees ? If no fees paid then still the option of npb

Even if no, it's still an exercise in minimising trouble and expense FOR THE OP; not to police ebay for everyones benefit.
I suggest it is in the balance whether paying the fees or facing possible trouble of snad is best option.
If you believe the probability of snad is low then npb is best option ; if you think it's high then fees refund is best( or yes , even swallowing fees). I think it's pretty high.
Ideally they will not pay and all will be well - but we can't be very sure of that can we?

    From the OP yesterday
Its been 3 days since I sent the money request.

Unless buyer pays the fees then seller is stuck with them unless they go through the NPB.

I honestly could not sell on ebay if I was so afraid of my buyers that I didn't dare to NPB non payers, it is nothing to do with policing it for others (although as a seller I do want ebay to stay free of these time wasters), I will NOT lose my fees on a dim wit who doesn't know how to use ebay. There is no point in being so frightened of selling that you lose money.

I said yesterday that only 1 npb had gone to a strike, I have opened 2 more, I have opted for ebay to do that automatically after 4 days. The other 2 paid as soon as the case was opened, both then paid & left positive FB. I didn't leave FB for them though.
There's another due to open tonight, I'm considering holding off on that one though as it's someone with 2000+ FB, all his say that he's a fast payer & he's not used his account since he won my auction, so on this occasion I shall probably give him the benefit of the doubt & hold fire for a few more days.
There is a chance that the buyer will pay & be a pain but the buyer, or rather bidder is already being a pain.
