General riding or insane stunts?
I prefer the clothing with the protection built in. Elbow and knee pads held on with
bits of elastic can move when you come crashing down and sometimes offer very little protection.
You maybe better sticking a band aid plaster on instead.
Protective clothing maybe a bit OTT for general riding though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Serious BMX racing, or as serious as this stuff gets for the age group.0

I'd ask the question on a different forum. Not many 10yr old dirt riders here I don't think. And parents often don't what the best stuff is.
I'd try a post on bike radar or www.bmx-forum.com
I suspect you'll get a much more informed view from people actually competing in the sport, rather than their parents - which is more likely here.
Good luck, I've done some serious damage to my knees, elbows and face in my formative years, so I've no doubt it will be a wise investment.0 -
Forcefield do a good range of mountain bike armour, which might do for BMX as well. I've never raced BMX, so not an expert on clothing requirements for it, but Forcefield stuff is good.0
