Hold on Gordon no need to be harsh it was 5 years ago and she was 15!! kids do stuff without knowing/thinking about the consequences. But I bet you were perfect at 15!!

No offence, but at 15 I was in school doing algebra and playing British Bulldog in the playground, not defrauding catalogue companies.

It's not like pinching a penny sweet from the corner shop! Fraud is a serious crime.

but at 15 most kids don't even know what fruad is... they may not have known how serious it was... think they have suffered enough though.

Sorry, I disagree. At 15 years old you are clued up enough to know that telling a catalogue company that you're 18 to get a credit line is wrong.

I think this will ring major alarm bells.
You are 20 with a default for a few years ago when you shouldn't have had credit!
No mainstream lender will touch you.

If people read what he/she said, op was 18 when they spent the credit so has 4 years remaining.
Did nobody else ever screw up as a kid?, jesus at 15 I was pinching bottles of cider, smoking weed and a general little !!!!!! but id like to think that those silly things I did as a kid were just that, they have no baring on the person I am now.
Surely it cant be considered an action at 15 has anything to do with that person as an adult?.

this is true... but as I say you'll be 21 soon with no defaults on your file ;) think it'll be safest to keep your head down and don't try for any more credit until it's gone :)

Precisely, it may be worth talking to someone who is impartial and knows the law like CAB so you can annoymously ask what would happen if you came clean or if you should just wait it out

Even though they told the company they were 18 it would have 2006 when they were 15 so next year it'll be gone

Depends on the date the default was placed on their file.
