Office stuff needed

Options
I would appreciate any advice here?

I need to buy a laptop, which will be used for a small business, the laptop will be used in and out of the office and will need to be able to hold quite a lot of excel files, plus I will need to be able to plug in a keyboard for the office use and a mouse, plus a printer, plus one of those little hard drives, plus I need to buy all these things!

Can anyone recommend where I might get all these things at a reasonable price and any recommendations on what laptop to get would be very helpful as I have no idea!

Thanks!

Any laptop built in the last 20 years can do all of that.

As a business user, I'd only recommend business class laptops - consumer ones tend not to be up to the hammering. Get yourself on Ebay and buy a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 for something with a large screen or a x200 for something small and portable but with lots of power. You should still be able to find some with the remainder of the 3 year Lenovo Next Day Onsite parts & Labour warranty which follows the laptop, not the purchaser. Only last year I was selling them with 2 years balance left.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 15 Laptop £370 roughly
Something like the Logitech MK605 Notebook Kit for £60
    Samsung S2 1TB Portable Hard Drive £70

You have to be more specific about your requirements for the printer ie, colour, scanner etc.

The above is from ebuyer and you can probably get it cheaper if you shop around.

When I was at work I had a Thinkpad with a docking station. Best of both worlds, convenience of a portable laptop and a separate keyboard+mouse+monitor with the docking station. I could also use the laptop screen as a second monitor.

    Well worth it!
