FSCS success + cancellation of policy within 90 days to get refund of NCB ?

Yes, almost 3 weeks and still no cancellation quote from FP!! I called them and asked where it was only to be told "it was posted to you on 7th June"....I've been checking the postie for the past 3 weeks...nothing

FP will resend the quote asap but not holding my breath!

Hi,

I've already got my quotation (they need to provide this before you can cancel apparently). I've now cancelled my PPI in writing and am waiting for confirmation back from FP. I've still got 4wks before my deadline so will start chasing on Monday.

Any update?

I've finally received my cancellation qoute from FP...posted on 7th June....arrived 1st July!!!! (After 3 phone calls :eek:)

I will write my cancellation letter to FP today (asking them to confirm I have received no NCB ) and then on to FSCS.

Hopefully First Plus will pull there fingers out and not let a month pass by before actually sending out the letter.

I've sent my cancellation letter off to FSCS and now await for a response.

Incidentently i did get a written reply from the FSCS confirming i would receive a full refund of the NCB.

I will let you know updates as i find out !!

Just to let you know I received a cheque today from fscs re. ncbonus. Posted cancellation letter from First Plus to them on 20//6/11 so just over a month. Very happy. Hopefully you will get yours soon.:T

Was this the the amount of NCB (ppi cashback). I assume that this will be forward to FP to take off the loan. If so then watch them they may well keep your payments the same and reduce the term.

Posted my letter 1/7/11, was signed for on 4/7/11 and chased FSCS this week as they had denied receiving it when i called them. When given the name of the person who signed for it i was given some guff about possible dispute between FSCS and FirstPlus. Lets hope i get it resolved in the next week or so as i'm starting to feel 'nervous' now after cancelling my PPI which was due the rebate next year after the assurances from the FSCS (which i have in writing) !!!

I posted my cancellation letter to FSCS mid July and have had no response as yet. I'll give them a call on Monday.

I also asked them to take it from the FP loan so lets hope all is okay.

I'll update next week;)

After having to send further copies of my cancellation letters to Deloitte (original lost between FSCS and Deloitte) i received my cheque yesterday. This was for 90% of the rebate amount (as per normal FSCS rules) but nevertheless is still a victory !!!
