It does happen all the time as we're in a similar position, we bought a table and chairs sold as "new - other" - description said perfect condition. My OH paid a neighbour with a van to collect them yesterday, they went there and OH refused to pay, they were scratched badly and covered in paint marks:eek: He said I would've throttled him if he'd brought that back home! Seller asked what will he give for them, OH said nothing, they were worse than the ones we're getting rid of:mad:
Can't believe he's even listing them for £10 more now:eek: due to time wasters:p.
Didn't think about the NPB on Ebay but as in the OP's situation, only a fool would hand over hard cash for something that's obviously not as described!0 -
We had the same - child's bike advertised as excellent condition, won the item without seeing, but asked questions before bidding.Got it for £51.
I got there and the bike was in poor condition - very scratched frame. Said no thanks- seller was OK about it.
He relisted and got £87 and feedback was fantastic - "excellent quality - couldn't be happier"
People's perception of condition can vary significantly. Finally found a bike in great condition for £45 that the seller advertised as good that in my opinion was excellent.0
