Hope everyone has a good day!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Hello, all!
Miss me?? I've been away for a few days and manically busy so havent had time to pop onto the board. We went white water rafting in the Nile over the weekend - absolutely mad, grade 5 rapids :eek:! Great fun, though the boat violently flipped into the water several times. I have some pretty death defying pictures!
Anyway, back in town for the time being. It was my roommates birthday yesterday and I spent an arm and leg on a cake - to be fair, it was HUGE! 16 of us only got half way through.
pix - oh, big decisions!! be sure to give yourself all the time you need. I bet your girls will be so proud of you either way.
DNMS - well done on the exercise! I seriously need to get that into my schedule these days...
Anyway, to make up for yesterdays damage, today I:- took public transport to work
- caught up with people using gchat and skype instead of texing
- delegated vet appointment to roommate
- lunch provided at work
- free cuppas at work
- dinner at home, leftovers
- pack for trip upcountry
- share leftover cake at office!
- book taxi to airport for tomorrow
- maybe yoga tonight? depends on when I get out of my meeting.
- meal plan
- check banking and update budget
So I am going on a short trip to the north of the country tomorrow morning - should be really interesting. The plane is apparently so small that they ask your weight when booking, if you are on the larger side you cant fly as you'll knock off the balance!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Well, we are in a most unusual position this week! As of last Sunday, when we paid off the final credit card, we now have no debt apart from our mortgage. Neither of us have been debt-free since we were about 19 yeas old! (We are now the wrong side of 40!). So that's something to celebrate BUT we have also dropped down to one income so I am determined we are not going to be tempted down the debt-route again. So today, I am going to have a last big double-check that everything's paid off, I'm going to do menu-planning till the end of May as we have nearly spent our food budget but have loads of stuff in, & I'm going to have a look through my seed-box to see what extra salads I can grow because as soon as we knew we were dropping to one income, we decided to grow more food. I'm going to try making Delia Smith's chickpea burgers as I found a load of dried chickpeas in the cupboard & didn't want to chuck them out if they could be used. So, it's an Old-style day for me. A lot less money coming in each month, but we are determined to do everything we can to live within our means so I will still be doing lots of dfw stuff on a daily basis. Still can't bear to think of how much money I used to waste.....there comes a time you just got to put it behind you & concentrate on the positive to move on.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (46/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Hi everyone :hello:
I'm trying to concentrate on work but finding it difficult because I'm so excited/nervous for OH who's got a job interview next week. Eeeek. Would be so great for us if he had to get it. It suits him perfecto-ly too so if there is any justice in the world it would be good if it shone down on him just this once
Small things:
· Forgot my purse  by accident, but we'll see how the day progresses - I might try to forget it more often…
· Cancelled chiro appt until after payday
· Cheapo soup for lunch
· HM cranberry rice pudding for a wee snack - cheaper than M*ller Rice
· Bit of voluntary work; sent email instead of posting letter
· Reading at lunch time
· Caught up with iplayer - watched The Scheme to see what all my family in Scotland were talking about! - Uh man. Had a little giggle to myself as one guy on it spoke exactly like my ex!
(Played interpreter for hubby
)
Not at all, Zigs! I love reading everyone's lists and finding out what is going on with them
Oh DNMS - you are right, I know. I'm happy with my £15 a month contract atm and an upgrade isn't too far round the corner
Did miss you NTBY - have a good trip!0 -
Afternoon all!
Not much of a list today for me. House is a tip and I am going to have to make myself do something about it at some point. The puppy crate in the dining room and the washing festooned all over the place certainly doesn't help. A bit of sunshine would be very welcome here
My list:- checked online banking, principally to make sure there's enough in there to cover car service today
- car's being serviced at the little local garage, who've always done it, very reasonably, and within walking distance of home, which is great
- checked for/done surveys
- ignore 20% off White Stuff sale today. This will be VERY hard, but I am VERY determined
Have only spent £20 on clothes for me this year, and am proud of myself for resisting temptation so many times (and being so creative with my wardrobe!) - v. quick pasta and salad dinner, as girls have sports activities this evening
- lunch on soup made yesterday
- laundry all over the house - keep peeking out to see if it looks promising, but sadly, no luck so far
- compile list to take to Morrisons tomorrow - should be a fairly cheap week for groceries
- see if we can stretch the budget far enough for DD1 and OH to get tickets to the Championship play-off final at Wembley at the end of the month
Hope everyone else is having a good Wednesday
And that the sun is shining whre you are, even if it can't be bothered to ut in an appearance here

Afternoon guys, its a very grey, wet day here today so no washing for me, gives me chance to clear the ironing from last few days

Had a very early start today, took OH to work to save his bus fare so whilst I was out I posted 8 ebay parcels - £17! I know the buyer pays this, but I hope I havnt lost out on any, will go through my acc to check, and see what I charged.
Do aim to list some more today and to sort some better items out for the free listing weekend, but im so tired at the moment, I think I might need a nap first!
Other things for today-
* Parcel up other ebay sales to post tomorrow
*All meals from stores
* Have read newspapers online
*Overpaid towards CC
* Count up lose change to pay into bank tomorrow
* Find clothes / receipts out ready for me to return tomorrow
Have a great day everyone xxLiving as simply as we can
