Overdraft charges

I have an overdraft of £1800 with Natwest and am being charged £15 a month interest. It used to be a student account and is now a graduate account - with a decreasing limit.
I am trying to pay off my overdraft from my new bank account - but am starting to feel like this is an insurmountable task.

Any advice would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the real world.

I'd suggest spending less. I know that might state the obvious but there you go.

If you look at web sites such as www.makesenseofcards.co.uk and visit the Debt-free Wannabe part of this forum you can get really good help with micromanaging your budget (e.g. cutting back on phone contract, Starbucks, gym, lunches at work etc).

£15 in interest is a drop in the ocean in the great scheme of things. Consider what you can cut back on and you'll find that with really conviction you can clear the debt in no time.

Then you can focus on a 15% deposit for your first house ;) !

you could look at switching banks, some will match at 0% for 12 months or have cheaper charges.

match the OD, then use the new OD to pay off the old one, close the old account.
