What make and model is it, please? Electric or mixer type? If it has suddenly taken a serious downturn in its ability to heat the water then, I'm afraid, it is likely to need a not-so-cheap part replacing.A house isn't a home without a cat.

No expert advice I'm afraid just to say mine's gone the same way, rinkydink. Putting up with it for now because I want to look in the sales after Christmas.0

My bath has started doing that, but my shower is fine. Shower is not electric - it all comes from the boiler.
Interested to hear any reasons!0 -
It maybe the shower head has become blocked with limescale build up. It may help to take the head off and clean it out. I think that steeping it in vinegar (but can't remember - maybe info on another cleaning tread!) for a while will help clear it.rinkydink wrote:hi there anyone out there got any ideas my shower has suddenly gone cold, luke warm on the highest setting, does this sound like a new shower im not very rich at the mo and could do with out any expense.

The worry would be that the heating element has packed up. That's the item referenced 12 on that diagram.A house isn't a home without a cat.

hi bob yes thats it thats the one!! heating element, is that going to be expensive do you know?0

If you don't know what you are doing ( and I don't mean that in any derogatory sense - I'd do this for myself but I'd get an electrician to do it for a customer) then you have the cost of an electrician plus the part. Sometimes it gets to be uneconomic compared to buying a new shower. Other times the repair is worthwhile.
