It has come to my attention that British Gas, as of today, have expanded two fixed price offers to all their customers. These offers were originally only available for customers who were on price promise June 2011 roll over.
The two offers are:
Fixed Price June 2012: This is set @ 12 months fixed at 19% above standard rates.
This starts on 1 July 2011 and ends 30 June 2012.
Cancellation fees £35 gas, £35 ele.
and
Fixed Price March 2013: This is 21 months fixed gas and ele rates @ 25% above standard prices.
Again starts on 1 July, and expires on 31 march 2013
Cancellation fees - £50 gas, £50 electricity.Let us create a better world for the next generation.

19% above standard rates! Is this reckoned to be a good deal?0

Not sure to be honest - very steep aren't they! Could be indicative of the price rises to come, but it is a gamble.
Have a thorough scout around would be my advice!Let us create a better world for the next generation.

I thought 19% was a bit steep too and 25% even more so. True it may be and indication of prices t come but how much have prices risen over the standard rate in the past 24month ? Is it worth the gamble, well it was for me a few year or so back when the prices went through the roof. What is the current standard rate tariff at the moment, does anyone know ?0
