Exchanging contracts Grrrrrrr - advice needed

We were supposed to exchange on Monday 4th, didn't happen because contact couldn't be made with all the solicitors in the chain, Tuesday, nope because one of the parties at the start of the chain hadn't signed their contract, the solicitors for that party were posting the contract to them on Tuesday afternoon in the hope that they'd have it back for Thursday (fat chance I thought to myself). Along comes Thursday and I ring our solicitor at 4:15pm to be told that he'd called the solicitor for the people that hadn't yet signed on Tuesday and left a message on their voice mail but he'd had no call back from them. Spoke to our EA yesterday to inform them of the news and they told me that they had spoken to our buyer earlier in the day and eveythng was okay as far as they were concerned but also told me that after receiving the message to call me back they had tried to contact the solicitors for our buyer but there was no-one in the office. I'll probably spend most of the day today on the phone to our solicitor and EA to see if any progress has been made.
Everyone is supposedly happy to move on the 15th and we have tentatively booked a removal firm.
Anyone have any advice as to how I might help put pressure on the solicitors of the 'stumbling block' party?
