Paypal fraud, £5k

Hi, first post on here but its the only forum i can think of full of people who are knowledgable when it comes to legal situations.
I run a mail order car parts business so use paypal a lot, and usually have quite a large balance in paypal.
Log on to paypal yesterday approx 5pm and see a 'wire transfer to bank account' has gone out of £5000. Of course immediately ring paypal, they say not to worry and report it as unauthorised on paypal straight away, which i did. They said no need to report it to the police etc and the fraud team will look into it and get back to you asap.
Later on today im starting to wonder whats happening so ring paypal and they say the investigation has been completed and there isn't sufficient evidence to suggest its fraudulent so i won't get the money back. they are saying no other IP addresses have entered the account so it must have been done from my computer.
Ring the police today and they are coming to see me tomorrow, but i can't help but think this won't get resolved. I have the branch sort code and the last 4 digits of the acc number all the rest is starred out on paypal, they have added it as a bank account to transfer balances to.
From experience even with the Wire transfer they have selected because it wasn't done until 4pm yesterday the money won't show in the account until wednesday, so thats when the person will likely go to the bank and withdraw the funds. Its just so frustrating as i know if they wanted to the police could stop them before they withdraw it from their account.
Advice appreciated.:(

To have changed your paypal account and hidden it from you the hackers must also have access to your email account as all notifications about the change would have gone there.
That susggests that either someone near to you has had access, and that would explain the same IP address, or that you have a hidden virus on your computer.
Either way whilst waiting for the police you need to go to the techie forum and get talked through a very very deep clean.
I would also start compiling a list of people around you who might have gained access to your PC as well as you may end up having to persue someone for this crime.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the response.
I think its a virus or similiar how they have accessed, as about the time it happened i couldnt get onto a browser and had to delete 4 trojans.
Im going to go to the police station tonight and see if i can speak to anyone.

if you are using wireless broadband and your wireless router is not secure then anyone near you also with wireless broadband can actively use your internet connection and get in that way as they are using your connection anything they do will show as your ISP given IP address.0 -

could the computer have been hacked through the internet and they have commited it remotely, purposely becuase they know paypal wouldn't reverse it?0 -
You need to run Malwarebytes and hijack this. What virus software are you using?Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

Also, I never leave any money in paypal. I always empty my paypal account at the end of each month so any loses would be minimal should a disaster happen. If you're not behind our soldiers.....please feel free to stand in front of them!0

Why you would not have a business account for that sort of money rather than relying on Paypal?Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

If you want to be ultra secure even when using WiFi, set-up an account with either Clouddns or Opendns. Using these, your data is fully-encrypted before it leaves your computer. Normally, data is un-encrypted when sent between your computer and the router.
Depending on which software you use within your business, you may also consider trialling a Linux set-up (if you have a spare PC or HDD). This is less prone to trojan and virus attacks.
As for your currant predicament, do not scan for, or remove any spyware, viruses or trojans. If you do, then you will be destroying evidence.
Also, have you considered Moneybookers as an alternative to Paypal ?.Never Knowingly Understood.
