Hi, just had a phone call from the above and they have said they can get my credit card debit written off, is this possible ?
also i have a credit card on a reduced payment plan now taken over by opus and i have been late with a few payments (but up to date with them) . opus rang me on friday to say as i have not paid on time they are now going to charge me interest on the debt. can they do this.

No. its a scam.
The courts looked at this back in Dec 09 and ruled in favour of the lenders in every case. Within months after that, the claims companies that took £495 up from started to go into administration taking all the up front money with them.
The scam is more commonly known as advance fee fraud. They give you some carrot to play on your greed and you only have to pay a smaller amount up front (often by telling you to put it on the card of the debt you want written off - which is potentially fraudulent in itself). They then mess you about for years and finally when the new money stops coming in, they go into administration and all you have done is waste £495.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
