As long as your partner travels with a child to abide with the T&C's of the Family and Friends railcard, you'll be ok.

When i try to sign up it asks me for two cardholders? but it is just me.

Would i need to be travelling with the cardholder or could i just put anyone down as it seems to be a required field?

    TIA

Think they need a D.O.B. just to make sure your an adult lol, just remember you have to travel with at least one child and I'm pretty sure that your allowed to let friends use it, so if you got a friend with kids who are gonna travel on train let them borrow your card - hence the name of the card Family & Friends railcard.

Just glad to see others benifiting from it as much as I will be
  • Hi All

First time posting after what seems an age just checking stuff out....

I also got a free 2 month railcard, and booked up online to go up to Scotland with my sisters and my daughter (13), but she is now going on a school trip that weekend and unable to travel.

I have looked on the T & C, as I would still like to go up as it beats being stuck in the house myself, but wondered can I still travel without forking out more money??

If you are asking "can I use Family and Friends Railcard discounted tickets without a child travelling?", the answer is no.

The answer to the first question in their eligibility faq confirms this.

Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that, but write a letter of complaint to the Railcard customer services dept, explain how disappoint you are, that you haven't received your railcard and how you and your kids were so looking forward to using it etc etc etc. But please word it nice and civil and they might help you out, not promising they will but if you don't write in then nothing will happen.
