Best time to book holiday to Egypt for end of Sept/Oct

Hi All

As above really... were looking to book a holiday to Egypt, 4-5* all inc for 2 weeks, 2 adults. Anytime after Sept 16th.

Last time we booked out flights with easyjet and hotel separately.

So my question is will the flight/hotel price come down over the next few months? or simply go up and up? (the flights seem high to me right now)

Book now? or wait?

Cheers, Dale.

Book when you see a price that you are happy to pay and don't check the price again afterwards.

Perhaps if you gave details of the flights you have seen others familiar with the route may be able to advise further.

Package holiday prices may be better this year because of the troubles than booking separately. Many people booked flights as soon as they went on sale, some obviously regreting it since then, with the result that the 'flight only' prices will remain high whereas the charter bookings came to a sudden halt and have been encouraged by new negotiations with the hotels to reduce the cost of packages. For Egypt, considering the volatility, I would be tempted to leave the booking until a couple of weeks beforehand

I have been looking for October half term, yes I know prices will be higher, but so much higher!:eek:Some A1 for 2 adults, (actually 1 adult and a 11 year old) on Thomas Cook for sharm are £2000 or more for a week!

I believe it is a better idea to book later because:
    - the situation may still significantly change in regards to safety
    - the hotels may withdraw their availability if they not sold up to satisfying level (I have been told by my friends in Marsa Alam, little resort 300 km south from Hurghada, quite a few hotels temporarily closed down due to not enough customers booked in - apparently, the customers will be transferred to somewhere else, but it is stress and hassle)
    - package holidays price should go down closer to the actual travelling date, in my opinion - due to decreasing flow of holiday makers to Egypt, I mean not only UK holiday makers: Russians are selling 70% less that the same period of last year..
