Tinned potatoes.

Options
I have a few tins of potatoes that my son gave me as he doesn't like them.

Any ideas what i could do with them apart from having them with meat/pie and veg?

Thanks

tinned taties are horrible imo i would wash them (and possible boil them abit if there in salt water ect to boil out some of the taste) then fry onion carrots garlic mushrooms, throw it into an oven dish top with chopped tomatoes and cheese and throw it in the oven and hope the tomatoes over power the taties abit

Very useful to have in the cupboard, rigsby.

If you drain them on kitchen paper (very important), then slice them, they're nice pan fried. Add onions and corned beef to make a lovely corned beef hash. Scrummy with a fried egg on top.

Alternatively, use them straight from the can, chopped into small pieces, and add mayo and chives to make a delicious potato salad.

Mash the potatoes and basically add anything you want. Serve warm.

Use them in a home made curry, or make bombay potatoes with them http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/bombaypotatoes_1406

My mouth is watering, valentina. I think I might have to cook that recipe later!

The taste of them isn't that good but they are a handy standby. If I use them I tend to do something with a lot of flavour like a spinach and potato curry so that there is some taste!

I like them roasted - but they do spit.

Also nice in a fritata type omlette.

I'd drain them and add them to a casserole or veg soup :)
