How do i work out how good a seller is by their dsr

I bought a item on the 10th of may and it still hasn't turned up so i have been looking at the sellers feedback and a couple of people have left positive feedback for the item but put slow delivery, so i have also looked at the dsr and it's showing 4.7 for dispatch time. When i buy something again from ebay what is best to look for in a seller as the dsr don't tell me anything.

I'm not sure that anything would be any better, I'd say 4.7 DSR on dispatch indicates a not too fast but not too slow dispatch. Stuff happens, so it may be a mail problem or they were held up for some other reason..0

have you emailed the seller to ask if its been postedI bought a item on the 10th of may and it still hasn't turned up so i have been looking at the sellers feedback and a couple of people have left positive feedback for the item but put slow delivery, so i have also looked at the dsr and it's showing 4.7 for dispatch time. I would email the seller too, even posted second class I would have expected it by now.
I have 100% positive Feedback but even my delivery DSR is 4.8 (4.88 when I go to look at it) and I often dispatch items the day they are won or more often the day after. I dont really know how I could be any faster, I think sometimes people may just not realise what sort of time scales second class delivery entails.
But either way if a customer was asking this about something I had sold them I would like them to contact me so I could set their mind at rest and reassure them that it is in the post and could they let me know if it had not been received by tommorow etc.Competition wins - 09/03 - £500 ELC Vouchers 11/04 - Lush Goodies 21/04 - Gillette Fusion Gift Pack 22/05 - Mirrors DVD 29/05 - Return Flights to London & £500 29/05 - £50 Homebase Gift Vouchers 20/09 - Remote Control Helicopter 28/09 - £225 Bingo Win 05/10 £25 Photobox Vouchers 16/09 £90 Cash 30/11 £29 Cash 03/01 £20 03/04 Fifa Football :T0 -
What are the dispatch times on the listing & what mail service were they using?0

The postage star may simply mean Royal Mail delivered some items late. Particularly if they don't have hundred of sales it's easily done.
I have 4.9 on my main account, but my secondary account has 4.8 which I don't seem to be able to shift, as I sell less. It was due to slow delivery around Xmas because of the snow (it was 4.7 at one point, for no good reason as it was down to one buyer who got their items reasonably fast).
However if people in the fb mention slow delivery, it's definitely an issue.0 -
The dispatch time is 5-7 working days and the item is being sent with royal mail second class. I think i will open a dispute as the seller has had 3 people today leave him a negative for items not turning up and the one put the seller has going silent. What are the dispatch times on the listing & what mail service were they using?0 -
That's a very long dispatch time, they may not even post until tomorrow & still be within their dispatch time if they don'c count the first day & so wouldn't be due until the beginning of next week.0

5-7 working days plus the estimated delivery time for 2nd class means it is not yet late. It may be that like you people did not read the sellers despatch times when they bid and ar enow over reacting to a suppsoed loss, so ebfore you do anythign check out the dates of the items won by th epeople that left negs. Don't just rush in and open a claim until you know you have a problem.
personally I think sellers are foolish to sell on ebay if they really can't despatch very often, but buyers don't have to buy if they are in a hurry.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The dates that people left the negs was for the 22nd of april and the 2nd and 3rd of may.5-7 working days plus the estimated delivery time for 2nd class means it is not yet late. If i click on the help icon where it says delivery estimated within 5-7 working days it says estimated delivery dates include seller's dispatch time.0
