Anyone else having problems with this update on Vista systems ??? Downloading ok but not installing/running ???

It installs and runs 'transparently', and if you get no messages then 'everything is all right'.

the windows update version keeps failing. I've run it manually, no probs, but even after clearing out the downloaded updates files, the bl**dy thing keeps trying to come in through Update, and flamin' well failing :mad:......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I had problem with last month's Patch Tuesday, and nine updates failed every time. I got round the problem by downloading each and running 'manually', whereupon all the failing automatic updates "went away", and all was well.
Is this what you have already tried?0 -

GJ have you tried the Troubleshooter on Control Panel , TroubleShooting, Problems with Windows Update.
