Is there room inside the garage for the water butt? You could drill a hole through the wall for the pipe to connect to the drainpipe on the outside. :D
I wouldn't fancy that, all kinds of potential problems.

Condensing dryers do collect the water - used as in our house where you don't have a convenient place to put a vent out of a window or through the wall. Ours collects it in a drawer like container that you just empty down the sink.

However the point about drying outside when you need to water the plants is well made (unless the OP uses a water butt to collect the dryer water until its needed!)

If you have a shed put a gutter along the lowest edge and a downpipe and you can fill a water butt from that. Its surprising how much water a shed roof will yield.

We only use the tumbler dryer in bad weather when we have too much to put on the rack which we have in the house, i surpose i could use the water from the dehumidifier when we have the rack in use.

Could use a water butt to collect the water from the tumble dryer, very good idea. I will also look in to saving the water off our shed.

Thanks for the advice all :money:

I was told many years ago that washing up water (hand washed dishes) was great for using around roses because it kills off greenfly. I dont think I would put water with any type of detergent on plants that produce food crops. Dehumidifier water would be no problem though--if I had a dehumudifier

    DON'T DO IT!!!!!!

I used water from a dehumidifier on plants/veg in the garden and in the house and it killed them all.

Apparently there are some "chemicals/crystals" which the damp air is drawn through before it condenses. The "chemicals/crystals" are very obviously toxic to plants and veg.

Not sure what the "chemicals/crystals" are but be very careful.

However, the water from a condenser tumble dryer is fine as this is just water.
