Replacing fridge/freezer - how do you decide?

I doubt whether there is a more reliable appliance than a fridge or a freezer. Our little Hotpoint fridge is at least 35 years old and we are only on our 2nd big freezer in over 34 years. I can't remember why we got rid of the old one, but it was not because it had broken down. Possibly just because we decided to buy a larger one. Remarkable really, considering that they both operate 24/7. We would not ever buy maintenance insurance, just make sure we have enough reserve cash to replace/repair if required. We might have freezer contents insured under the house insurance, but I'm not certain about that.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
