Can a sky satellite dish be used in conjunction with a freesat box, and both work at the same time.
Thanks

Yes and Yes, it is better to use a 4 way lnb if you want to use record on both.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0

First question: yes
Second Question: yes but with the restriction you must have sufficient number of feeds available.
ie.
1 feed per box for basic functionality (1 channel at a time)
2 feeds per box for Sky+ type functionality (2 channels at once so you can record one while watching a 2nd)
No simple splitting of feeds is available, you either buy a more expansive LNB (head) to put onto the dish and provide extra feeds directly from source, or you could buy an expensive multiplexer but they're only really economical when you have multiple properties to serve*
(*eg my neighbours and I colluded with our managing agent to get one put in, 1 dish and 2 multiplexers got us 32 feeds [16 x 2] between 16 of us for about £2000 [£125 each] installed inc cabling, which saved the cost/effort/ugluness of putting 15 dishes up with external cabling -which was also a non starter plan due to being prohibited by lease covenants)0
