My favourite is certainly not to everyone's taste, it is Lindt Chili chocolate, which is a 70% cocoa dark chocolate with red chili extract. Lindt also do a 90 per cent, for real hard core chocoholics like me.

I have just one square, per week. Slipped into the mouth, no chewing, just allowing it to melt, maybe slipping it under the tongue for awhile too. No distractions - eyes closed, just focusing on the sensation. It's my only vice ... and I love it!

I'm another one whose chocolate choice depends on my mood and what I feel like at the time, but I do like Cadbury Caramel, Wispa and Green & Black's Maya Gold. They're not a bar but I also quite like Cadbury Buttons as well if I'm in a childish mood.

Although I would consider a surprising number of those on the list to be biscuits rather than chocolate bars...

I'm also surprised by the attitude towards Nestle. I can understand that they have acted somewhat unethically in their history but a similar boycott does not seem to be as prevalent on medical companies that use the developing world as a testing ground, precious metals and stones that are nearly all unethically sourced or even the Catholic Church which, lets face it with their stance on contraceptives, have caused far more damage to the developing world than Nestle could ever muster.

To me, boycotting a confectionary brand seems like an easy way for people to feel like they are actually making a difference to the world when the reality is that it comes with the bonus of reducing the chocolate intake from people in countries where cases of obesity show no sign of being reduced.

I'm so glad Star Bar is on the list - I didn't think it would be! So many people I've met have never heard of it but it's the best thing ever! I think it's becoming more and more popular though, as I only ever used to find it in little newsagents who have a huge selection of chocolate - but now I find it in supermarkets, petrol stations etc.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned supermarket "own brands" and some of the "obscure" labels sold be the likes of ALDI and Lidl.
Come on ..... we are supposed to be money savers after all!
Actually - in my experience some of the chocolate sold by ALDI and Lidl in particular are sensationally good .... at amazing prices .... so you can indulge and feel smug at the same time!
Sainsburys and Tesco own brand posh choccolate is also really good.
I'm really surprised how popular Cadbury's Dairy Milk is ..... it's horrible claggy stuff ..... high in cocoa butter and low in cocoa solids. Yuk!

    Ah, still pushing AV ;)
I stuck to my principles and voted only for Green & Black's. G&B's is one of the better value for money, if I want a pint of milk or a bag of sugar, it's cheaper in the next isle. Looking for the feel good chocolate fix, then it's dark all the way.

Although I'm more concerned about solids % and absence of icky ingredients, I'd note that places like Lidl commonly stock a better range of mainly foreign brands like Lindt.
