short break jersey or guernsey

My husband and I have just retired and a short break we would like to do would be to one of the above islands. Is there any way of finding out about last minute breaks? Its not so much to drive the cost down as we probably wouldnt but would like to go when the weather forcast is good (have had too many holidays in my life watching the rain!)
would prefer to fly from a London airport - we live a long way from Weymouth and other sea crossing points

Morning. I am not sure whether you have visited the above islands before, but Guernsey is beautiful. The flight from gatwick is only 30 minutes. It is a small island with a max speed limit of 30mph! It has beautiful beaches and lovely costal walks. An island with alot of history too. There is also a boat that leaves from st peters port (town) to Herm island. A lovely day out. The sand is white and the water is so pure. When we went, we hired a car from the airport to drive around the island for the duration of our stay.(however this is certainly not essential!) There is also "the little chappel" which is a must see attraction! People sell their home grown food from the side of the road, a lovely idea to taste the local produce. We stayed in the beautiful appartments of Beau Vallon. A short drive/taxi ride form the airport and walking distance to corner shops and beach. http://www.beauvallon.co.uk/
