my acer 5920 board has died. i really liked this laptop because it was loud (had a subwoofer) and had good battery life, had firewire port and performed well. i paid £400 about 3 years ago.(and it was heavy!)
now im looking for a similar laptop which preferably has a long warranty (acer direct offer 3 years?), and has the above qualities. is the i3 5742 similar? i presume that laptops have got faster so it will be an improvement on the 5920.
any suggestions please?

dell xps has a subwoofer
sale of goods act gives you added protection out of warranty, so extended warranties aren't really worth paying for.

I looked at this laptop before a few times. Nice design, feels well built, thin enough, not too expensive, decent specs.... but the speaker is !!!!!!£.... really really !!!!!!£. its a tin7y speaker located to the left of chassis beside the power buttons.... its ONE speaker, a small round speaker and it pushed out nothing. You would hear a fly fart from across the room over these speakers.
if there is anyone out there with this Top can you give your opinions and tell me that im mistaken, because im a fan of acer and they usually make great tops.I'm not normally a religious man, but... if you're up there, save me, Superman!0
