Going back to college but already used false start (SAAS)

So it goes like this.Im from Scotland and I went to uni to do electronic and electrical engineering. Didn;t like it so I changed course(use false start) to Mechanical Engineering, got to end of second year but hated that even more, so I left to look for a job. I'm now contemplating going to college to do a course in Sound Production or something else. Now normally this is a clear cut case of getting the funding yourself from working which i am willing to do, however, someone who i went to the same uni with and also did mechanical engineering did the same for me, he used his false start rule and left after the 1st year of his new course. He then went to college to sound production after a year, however, he phoned up SAAS and they said he'll get funded, and they did fund him. Can someone explain this and if it can be done, am I able to do this? Since we were in the same boat.

I don't know about SAAS but from what you've said, you're not quite in the same boat as your friend because you've had three years of funding already (1 EEE and 2ME) whereas your friend has had two.
Are you planning doing a HND at college then doing a top up year to a full degree at university? Do you have any extenuating circumstances? It is probably worth contacting SAAS direct to discuss it with them
