Playstation 3 - can't log on

My son can log onto his account and go onto PSN without difficulty. My nephew is having trouble logging into his account. I plan to see him on Thursday. Is there anything i need to check apart from internet connection?

He plays FIFA 11 online.

Sony are 'phasing' the PSN back into service. From what I understood this was on a country by country level, although it's possible that some users could get access before others even in the same country. So it's possible there's nothing wrong with your nephews setup

Make sure that he has upgraded his playstation to the latest firmware (3.61). After doing this when he next attempts to sign in he should be asked to choose a new password.

Once this is done then theoretically he should have no probs especially if it was working ok before the issues sony experienced!

He may not be able to change password if he's on a different PS3 to when he opened the account, if so he should check his emails on that account for further instructions.

Sony had SHUTDOWN the PSNetwork. No-one can access online gaming until they turn it back on fully.

Nothing is wrong with the playstation or the internet.
