made to measure wooden venetian blinds

Options
Looking for someone online (or shop) who offer this service BUT who do the job properly so that the cut ends are finished properly i.e. cleaned of whiskers and splinters, cut in a vertical line and the end are then stained to match

Just got some made to measure from a shop, I could have done a better job in my garage than they did, so they are going back

I bought 6 wooden blinds made-to-measure from these people http://www.blinds-2go.co.uk/
I was (and still am) very pleased with the quality and service. Had them up 3 years now and they still look like new. Bit pricey maybe, but I can't fault the quality.

Contacted Blinds2Go they have said they don't treat the cut ends !

Why would anyone want a dark wood blind with un-treated cut end ?

Hang on a mo - just going upstairs to check mine ........

......I'm back! I got mine from interiordecordirect . The ends aren't treated but I got them for a recess fitting, so you never see the ends anyway - even so there's not much difference in the colour. However they are excellent quality, great value and service

I have used these for loads of blinds around the place, got some lovely wooden ones for dining room last year, really impressed with them, and had faultless service

interiordecordirect said they didn't do it, although you could add a note to your order to request it - didn't see any option to do that myself

Found someone who does offer the staining of the ends ( only on certain ranges though ?) + its a cost option
and you can choose it as part of the order process

    The Express Plus range HERE

Lets see how it looks when they arrive

I've also used these and been very impressed with the service and price. If you're not in a massive hurry, order a sample (free) and they usually follow-up with a discount code a few weeks later.

They are owned by Hillarys Blinds.

I had some for our window and they were beautifully finished from a online blinds site in Invergordon Scotland also the ends were not shabby like many are.

Can't see the ends of the blinds on mine as they are a good fit inside the recess. Why not stain them yourself? Can't be that much for a small tin of woodstain and a little time spend with a paintbrush...

Yes, but not all blinds go in recesses

It wasn't just the staining in fact, it was also the care taken over the cutting as well to avoid ragged edges, splits etc which is what we got 1st time round.
I sort of hoping the fact that they have to stain them in that area will make them aware of the quality of the finishing
