Hope it isnt too painful astonsmummy.
Although what in fact you should do is rub your Mum's wedding ring (as told to me by my Dad) on a leather belt until the ring heats up and then place the ring gently on the stye.
But as a good MSE'r I'll also tell you to visit the chemist0 -

I've tried this and it really doesn't work.
As previous posters have said, warm water held against it is best.0 -
I did actually rub it with a ring, and it's gone now, but i cant say if thats why though!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

Brolene eye ointment is usually good for styes.
I've also heard that putting a wet tea bag (make sure it's warm) on the stye is supposed to help.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Um, I know it's a bit late now, but have you thought perhaps you ought to see your GP? Could be an infection that's not cleared up properly ...
Hope it gets better soon ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

try brolene or golden eye ointment from the chemist (they are the same so which ever is cheaper) and keep it clean with boiled and cooled water with a pinch of salt. don't rub it you will spread the infection.0

Hi, My mum's styes kept coming back and were extremely painful so she went to the doctor and she prescribed an eye ointment which had 1% of something which works brilliantly but your doctor can only prescribe it and is not available to buy over the counter. The style now hardly comes back and if it does start to come you just follow the instructions and it doesn't get to the stage where it becomes big or painful
Hope this helps0 -
