Hi
I think i hav a stye on my bottom eyelid, it's red and puffed up, and god is it painful! it is consatntly hurting, and hurts to blink, my eyeball is aching and all around the eye hurts too. It's not !!!!! but there is a lump.
Will i need to go to the docs or can i go the chemist?

Ive never used anything for a stye before. They normally just go away in a couple of days. Best I can think of is just eye drops to keep your eye clean.

I always got styes when I was younger, really big, red, swollen painful things they were. Mum used to boil water, add salt, take cotton wool, dip it into the hot water and just hold it on the stye. Invariably it would soften the head of the stye and the gunk would ooze out (sorry!). The relief was immense.0

I had advice from an eye DR once who advised a drop of baby shampoo in a mug of water as hot as you can stand. Soak cotton wool in the water and then hold on the eye....it won't sting as its baby shampoo!! I have since tried it and it works, hope you feel more comfortable very soon.Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0
