I bought a DVD with short stories on it from Ebay, when I played them through the computer they play fine.
Last night I uploaded some of them onto my Sony walkman mp3 player until it was full, but when I play them it just says NO DATA.
I noticed on some of the music information on the mp3 player that it is
mp3 (MPEG2 audio layer 3)
but the short stories are mp3 (MPEG3 audio layer 3)
could this be the problem?
Can they be converted to play on the mp3 player?
Thanks for help

If you use a program such as MediaInfo it will show exactly what those files are.
Then post the text information here.
I think your walkman is taking a wild guess when it says 'MPEG3'.

It's a bit confusing.
The mp3 files that most mp3 players handle are Version 1 Layer 3 (MPEG-1 layer III).
It looks like the file you have is Version 2 Layer 3 (MPEG-2 layer III).
That's probably why the walkman won't play it.
(Media players in PC's will play almost anything).
So I think you need to convert it.
There's lots of converter programs out there to choose from.
Such as MediaCoder or WinFF.
Try converting it to mp3 at 48Kbps or 64Kbps.
Test it with one file first, then see if it plays in the walkman.
