What kind of will does a Widow need?

Options
I ask that question because I wanted to use an online Will making service but the options they list for their standard wills state "married" or "unmarried". Fore xample: "Will for a married couple" or "will for an unmarried person" etc

So is a Widow now "unmarried"?

A widow is unmarried, ie she is not married to anyone.

Yes. A widow is a single person.

  • Thanks for the clarification. You would think that their would be a "widow" category as there is in lots of other legal contexts - Social Security, Health etc. Nobody says my mother is single. She's a widow. BUt that clarifies things.

Not really an answer, but on line will services are cheaper generally, and too many options would possibly drive up price, like widower / widow, divorced, separated, living together, gay marriage
