I saw a different (lower spec) 5742 in the shop. Would both computers have the same case and keyboard etc, with just the innards different? So at least I could compare how they feel to the touch?

I would expect it to be, but you never know when models are updated etc. I assume that if you really couldn't live with it, then as an internet purchase you should be able to return it.

    Well, the deed is done!

Comet had an end of line Fujitsu Lifebook AH 530B which had good reviews generally and specifically. It was reduced from over £500 to £370 or £380 (can't remember which). There was a beautiful red HP for the same price but head won over heart (for once!) and I'm online now!

So, it has Norton as a trial for 90 days. Do I install it for now, or do something else? Am happy to use Avast and whatever else is recommended.

It appears to have come with an Operating system restore disc and drivers / utilities restore disc, so no need to create those (I assume)?

    Thanks
