bath re enamelling - your thoughts experinces

Our bath is looking very old and have been looking into having it re enamelled while still insitu. I not keen on the diy kits you can buy so i am thinking of getting a company in to do it. I have had a quote for £265 not bad, but could buy a new bath for that but would then have to retile(tiles are 6 years old)

Has anyone else used a company and what have you though about the end result

yes, few years ago I had a bath re-enamelled. Was similar cost to replacing the bath, but didn't want to have to change tiles & didn't want to have to remove old cast iron bath either.

Came up brilliantly! Used a professional & was so impressed. Bath was old & rusty & came up truly like brand new. Money was very well spent. Took them about 4 hours I think....

I had a bath re-enamelled a few years ago, think it was similar cost to your quote, but the job was excellent, I was really pleased with it. Far better than getting rid of the cast iron bath and getting a cheapo plastic one in.

Of course, then I moved house to a place with no bath! That's on the list somewhere...
