E.On SaveOnline v6 cancellation fee
Hi All,
I cannot seem to find anywhere in the terms and conditions for the E.On SaveOnline v6 tariff what the cancellation fees are. It says I'll be liable for some if I leave early, but doesn't say what they are. I've emailed E.on, but it says they might take up to five days to get back to me. Thought somebody here might know.
I ask because I'm thinking of moving to an EDF fixed plan so would have to exit my current plan. If the fee is too high, might not be worth it.
Cheers,
Sam

Hi Sam
The cancellation fees for Saveonline 6 are £30 for Dual Fuel and £10 for electricity only accounts.
Hope this answers your question but just give me a shout if you need any more advice as will be happy to help.

Why yes, that does answer my question. Thank you very much.
However, I've got an even better one
As mentioned in my OP, I'm looking to get on a fixed tariff. My understanding is that the SaveOnline tariff is 6% below E.On's standard rate. E.on's fixed to April 2013 tariff charges a 7% premium on E.On's standard rate. However, when I put my info into comparison sites or do the maths myself based on figures from E.On's site, it seems that the fixed tariff is between 25% and 30% higher than my current SaveOnline 6 Plan.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but shouldn't it only be 13% higher if I currently get a discount of 6% but the fix charges a premium of 7%? If the fix was only 13% over my current rates, I'd consider staying with E.On, but at 28%, there are much better offers to be had.
Thanks again,

Hi Sam
You're right, in that, Saveonline 6 guarantees to be at least 6 per cent cheaper than our standard rates. However, this is the minimum we guarantee to be below by. Depending on the area, it can be a lot more than 6 per cent.
However, Saveonline 6 is a variable tariff and the prices are not fixed or protected. Therefore, if our standard rates were to go up, Saveonline 6 would also go up but would still be at least 6 per cent cheaper than the new standard prices.
You're doing exactly the right thing in using one of the comparison sites. This will show all the options available to you.
Sorry for any confusion in the wording Sam but hope this makes it a little clearer. Let me know if I can help further as will be happy to do so.

Hi
Could the EON rep please comment about the cancellation charges w.r.t Fix Online 6 and the MSE story http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/utilities/2011/08/eon-is-latest-to-announce-energy-price-rises
From reading the above, I thought I wouldn't be charged when I leave EON Fix ONline 6 for another supplier, but Eon Customer Service think differently.
Also, I thought if I notified EON then I could remain on the same (old) prices until the switch occurred? Is this correct?
Thanks

it's already been posted need to let eon know you're leaving and chosen supplier need to notify them within 15 days of your doing so. Generally you have a two week cooling off period, so if you arrange your switch, then call Eon to advise you're leaving then new supplier will put loss pending notice in within the 15 day timescale.0

Hasn't Fixonline v6 long since expired?????0 -
Hi BrewerDave, you are correct. It's not the Fix its the Save Online V6. This is a discounted tariff.
Hi AirMike23, I've read and seen what you have written before, but when I called Eon they said I didn't need to tell them. They also said I would be charged £30 cancellation. This is why I thought the EON MSE expert may be able to comment.0 -
I'm with EON at the moment and to ensure I was clear what the increased tariffs would mean to me ( only average movements are published) I went on line to check them and low and behold I can't ,they don't exist. E mailed EON who returned my query by stating there was a site problem and they had no idea when it would be corrected, but I could spend my cash on ringing them on 0845 line. Any body have the tariff for On Line Saver dual fuel V3 please?0

Old Jack - using comparison sites there is often a question that asks, "Show me tariffs I can switch to today/now", if you answer yest to that question will exclude all tariff results for current supplier. Some sites such as simply switch just WILL NOT show current suppliers tariffs, as they want you to swap and get their commission for having used their site to do your switch. Eon have also released some tariffs on 5th Aug, only available for existing customers, so will not appear on comparison sites in result pages as not open to new custoemrs coming over to Eon. Savbe Online 9 is the cheapest deal Eon offer at the mo, cheaper than all current active versions of Save Online versions 3-8 all increase 13-9-11, whereas saveonline 9 is already based on rates as of 13th Sept 2011.0

Thank you airMike23 ..sod's law I've just received EON's tariff for V3, using my known usage to date from Nov last year it gives about an 18% increase. If anyone would like the SaveOnline 3 tariffs please let me know. I will check the Online 9. comparison0
