Housework - with 2 yr old twins....

I know this is a moneysaving forum but have you considered a cleaner? Local self employed (not agency) cleaners are quite cheap. We have a lady come on Tuesdays for 4 hours and it costs £30. She scrubs and cleans like there is no tomorrow.
My wife goes out for the morning with our 10 week old daughter for breakfast and a coffee and a general relax away from the house.0 -
It sounds as if the problem is not so much the twins, but the attitude of your OH. If he got off his "!!!!" and helped now and again, perhaps you would both have a bit of time to spend together.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Staying at home with kids is hard work. I have been a SAHM and I am now a single mum who works full time and let me tell you staying at home was harder!
Just spray a bit of polish in each room. If the room is reasonably tidy your OH will think you have polished too!
A squirt of loo cleaner in the loo and a quick swish over in the bathroom will appear as if you've done there too.
If he's still not happy hand him the hoover and let him do some! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

I found the flylady thread too much for me (sorry ladies) having a 8,6 & 19mth old round all day (we home school) i spend all my spare time cooking/cleaning and not having much fun in general. My dh doesn't expect it but i like things reasonably clean/tidy. I have spent the last few days making a 4 week rota of jobs that are important to me to be done. I decided what needed doing weekly, fortnightly, monthly and then highlighted blue for dh's jobs pink for mine and purple for shared such as changing the beds as i need help to turn the mattress. They are only important ones and no extras. It's worked out at mostly one job a day and most of 2 taking no more than 30mins in total. This doesn't include the cooking/washing etc as they are daily jobs which i see as a habbit most days now anyway. I'm hoping this will work if stuck to.0

My commiserations to the OP, I "only" have 2 year old twins so things are a tiny bit easier for me!

We have just moved to a new city for OH's work, so I had to quit my job and am now a SAHM. After being in full-time work for so many years, it is a bit of a shock to the system.
I totally agree with the above comments - stop ironing! Even when I was working, and we paid for a cleaner for our flat, I gave up on the ironing after my DDs were born. We just all go around looking slightly crumpled :rotfl:and OH irons his own shirts if he has some important event that he really needs to look presentable for!
And I have had to drop my standards considerably, we do a mad half-day cleaning blitz at the weekend and the rest of the time I just push the ginormous dust bunnies to the sides of the room and hope the girls don't try to eat them!:p0
