Hi,
I currently have an LCD T.V. into which are plugged, Sky box, X-Box 360 and a Blu ray player.
I am looking to get a surround sound system. Can I run surroundsound with just an optical cable? If so anyone know of decent kits (Sub £250)
Thanks
Sam

If you are looking to get surround sound from all the devices you will need to possibly look at getting an HDMI switchable AV Reciever (starting at about £120) and then the speakers on top. You might want to then plug all the HDMI cables from the devices into the reciever and then 1 HDMI from the reciever to the TV. I do this at home and it really works for me! have a look at https://www.richerdounds.com for the deals and I buy my cables from https://www.play.com where I get optical cables for as little as £1.49 delivered and HDMI cables for the same!! (although be aware that optical cables should be in 0.75 metre lengths therefore 0.75, 1.5, 2.25, 3.0 etc). A.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Logitech Z-5500, not quite sub £250 but an impressive piece of kit for the money.
