Does your local council have a trading standards approved list of folk who provide these type of services. Our does and they are listed through the council website. Otherwise email friends in the area to ask for recommendation? Or call out at least 3 folk from the yellow pages (only if they do free consultations) and then get their advice and a quote from each.

Aparently Ozone generators (these are not ionizers) are great at removing smells, smoke, and the stench of urine in confined spaces like in rooms. They cost around £100 to build from parts of ebay (or about £750-£2000 built) - last time I looked. Hire shops may have them?

The small one that are often used to sanitise water, often sell for around £175 are a waste of time for your needs, you are looking for a big box similar to a BIG shoe box, or mig welder size that has a fan blowing out air.

You do not want to breathe ozone in, has the ability to corrode, and is generally really nasty stuff. However I'd leave one on in an empty room, over a long weekend and take a trip away.

Do not buy the small low outoput ones as they are a waste of money
