The date they receive a letter is the date the letter is stamped as having been received but they may not actually open/look at it for several more days (or 2 weeks in the case of our CVI's when those registered blind were reassesed for HRM). So they can have received it but not know that yet because they haven't got to it and put it on the system yet.

No idea about the tribunal and decision maker though as I've never had to go to a tribunal.

  • The decision from the Tribunal has now gone to a decision maker, who will make sure that the decision made is correct in law.

This will give the DWP the opportunity to appeal if there has been an error.
It doesn't often happen, but can.

You may also be sent a letter asking if you have been in hospital etc. during the claim process.
This is so that you are only given the back pay due.

Hopefully it should just be a short time now

These things are never simple - but appears you are on the right course especially if Tribunal in your favour...so fingers crossed.

The wheels in DWP grind slowly but do eventually (am told) come to an end!
