First Direct don't pay credit interest.

Otherwise take it and donate it as part of your annual zakat.

Back to subject of the thread rather than stirring trouble, speak to the bank and I am sure they can arrange for your account to receive zero interest.

Just because the bank pays nil interest at moment does not mean in the future it may change its terms and conditions. If you set your account up now to pay zero interest then any future changes would not be affected. I came across this regularly when I worked in a branch that had a large muslim community.

    Good luck.

Stirring trouble is pointing out that the OP's story has big old holes in it? OK sweets, whatever you think! :rotfl:

You may want to consider The Co-Operative Bank. They pay no interest on their Current Account but you can get a share of the profits the group makes at the end of the year if you opt to become a Co-Operative Member.

They also brand themselves an 'ethical' bank, so the money you deposit isn't invested in arms companies or companies that test on animals, among others.

As for a current account Halifax doesn't pay interest as such but pay a "reward" if you go for their Reward account. I don't know if that would count as interest or not.

Also if you don't want interest on your savings how about opening another current account and using that as a savings account?
