WH Smith Magazine subscriptions Arrrrrgh!!!!

I subscribed for a magazine through WH Smith website on 10 October 2006, and my dad ordered two magazines a day later. We thought it was a good deal - half price for 6 months, then free to cancel whenever.
We were told that the magazines could take between 6-8 weeks to arrive depending on when they were published. So we waited and waited..... and today almost two months later I've rung them, having emailed them and got a "Thanks for your email" reply last Thursday with the promise that a CS rep would be in touch (and nobody bothering to do so).
I've rung 4 numbers today (three of which were 0870 because there's no alaternative) and guess what? There's no record of any orders, they don't know who I am, and they've no idea if (or when) we'll get the mags.
I'm fuming  and I've tried looking on their website for an address to write to the managing director to complain, but can't find anything on there. They're pleased to give out an email address though, cos they can choose to ignore that.
Needless to say I won't be giving up - besides anything else, I need to know where my credit card details have been sent to and where they are now. Anybody else had problems like this?

Soba,i have had problems with them also, though thankfully i have been able to put it right.
I ordered a years subscription of a specific magazine as a xmas gift for a friend. It said allow 10 days and then you should hear from the actual publishing company who deal with it.I heard nothing so emailed them.Got no reply from WH Smiths so i emailed the publishing company direct.Luckily they were a bit more helpful and contacted me to say they had no record of the order, and that they never dealt with WHSmith anyway!!.In the end they phoned me and i was going to point out the website and where it mentioned them. But it had disappeared from the site by then!!
So i paid them direct and they promised that if by some miracle it should still turn up and it accidentally got charged twice they would refund it.So at least i was able to rectify it.I would have been VERY upset if the supposed gift for xmas had not turned up so good job i checked.Like you i would never use them or trust them again.0 -
I'm going to write to the managing director with my complaint. Might as well go striaght to the top. I'll send it recorded then they can't say they haven't received it. It shouldn't be as easy to lose as emails (and indeed credit card details)!!
Absolutely shocking customer services, was passed from pillar to post this afternoon, and one lady who gave me yet another 0870 number to ring told me not to even bother cos the queue on that line was so long I wouldn't even make it to the end of the queue!!!
Did try saynoto0870 but the numbers I was given had no geographical alternative, thanks anyway C_Ronaldo.0
