Top of my compost turning green
I'm growing onions, carrots and tomatoes in pots, compost mixed with vermiculite.
We had some heavy rain last Friday (Bournemouth) which gave everything a good soaking, but now the top of the compost has turned a dark green colour. I've turned it all over with a hand fork but am worried that it is a disease/funghi and I should remove it?
Thanks for any help.

Why has it suddenly appeared? I've never had it before. Plants have been regularly watered on an evening, but not left to soak. ... Does it mean I'm over watering?0

IIRC (the OH is the expert), green on the top of your compost means that a) it's probably too wet and b) more importantly it's not getting enough oxygen.
I've noticed this happens a lot in plastic greenhouses and propogators.
Make sure you open the greenhouse during the day and this problem disappears. The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

This happened in my pots and bags that were under fleece, as soon as I took it off and lightly disturbed the surface soil it went away0
