Help with combi boiler

Options
Hi all

I have a ferroli optima 700 combi boiler and currently when I run the bath its burning hot for a few seconds then runs almost cold just using the hot tap.

if I keep turning it off an on I will get short burst of hot each time, but then runs almost cold again.

I have the manual, but it doesnt offer help for this,

So I will plan to get a service, the phone number on the manual no longer in use, boiler about 10yr old.

1) any suggestions who to contact for service? idea what I should expect to pay?

2) is there a simple short term solution I am missing?

Many thanks for any advice

Could be a partly blocked heat exchanger, if so it's either a power flush or new heat exchanger, unfortunately neither one that cheap about £300 i'm told.
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes.

    Hi i love it,

Had exact same problem with my combi last year. Cannot remember what the technical terms were but basically when you switch a hot water tap on it flicked this little plastic switch on in the boiler. The plastic switch had a piece broken off and so didnt stay switched on thus not heating the water. My repair was covered by my british gas boiler cover that I pay extra for but if i remember correctly, the engineer said it would have been about £200.

    Hope that helps.
