Looking to buy our first home cinema system and a new tv and just wanted to check with someone more familiar if they would work ok together - alongside BT vision too ...

Have priced different places but as far as i can gather these seem to be the best I can find for the money - and John lewis has the five year guarantee.

Have opted not to go with Blue-ray as we watch most of our films through bt vision and rarely use our DVD player as it is.

Any advice really welcome - or alternative suggestions.

Thank you ..

For the love of god, please don't. If one bit of that packs up, you've lost the whole system. Its also only got one optical in and thats it so once you've connected your BT vision, if you do decide to get a games console, can't connect both.

Most people who buy home cinema systems like these usually find that they've wasted their money not long after when they want to add something and run the sound through it. How many times have you seen threads on here where people have this type of home cinema and want to hook something else up but can't because it either has no inputs or they've run out of them?

You've already got a DVD player. Get a proper surround amp/decoder and a set of speakers from Richer Sounds. The Onkyo brand are very good. It'll cost you £100/£150 more but it'll have enough connectivity to keep most people happy for the future - I've got Sky box, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC hooked up to mine - AT THE SAME TIME.

    I bought one of these

which is superb for my needs. It is only a speaker system. No dvd player involved etc etc. You can look for one similar at lower price.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Thanks Hammyman - I just assumed that i would be able to connect at least bt vision and wii at the same time without having to mess with cables! -
Wazza - that one looks good just a little pricey .

Really appreciate your help as i would probably have found out too late I could only connect one piece of equipment!
