How much clearer did my listing need to be:
FREE (mentioned in the listing title)
FREE, no need to bid, just contact me about collecting it (opening title)
Though it must be collected, will not post (ending words on listing)
Postage: Free local pick up
Yet someone who loves 3.5 hrs away bid & of course the winning bid was 1p.
I did contact them before the listing ended, but never heard back from them. Surely I don't have to honour this should they be stupid enough to pay me 1p through paypal.

If they do pay could you not email and tell where to collect it from and please arrange a time date. Perhaps put a cancellation date in if they do not collect in time. You will have complied with your offer. If they fail to collect that is up to them
If not why not talk to paypal/ebay."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

how do you know they live 3.5 hours away??
there details may be out of date or they may be prepared to travel..
untill you hear from them you dont really know what the situation is so i would hold tight for now...0 -
If they want to collect it, that is fine. But I doubt someone will want to travel 3.5 hrs to collect last years weight watchers program. I put in the request details to find out where they lived as it puzzled me why they bid when they didn't need to.
I purely decided to put it on ebay as free so to keep it out of the bin. Will see what happens, but at least on my part I am hoping I am covered, should they get funny about it all and demand it be posted.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Freecycle might have been a better choice

Tried freecycle & a group on facebook where you give stuff away for free. No one asked for it, who didn't expect me to personally deliver it to them, so tried ebay.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160

It might be just me, but I'd have taken the hint at that point that it wasn't of value to anyone, and it would have gone into the charity bag, or the recycle bin

Maybe your 1p bidder is plucking up the courage to ask you to deliver?0 -
