Is it possible to convert lamp so it's turned on from wall switch?

Hi,

I have seen an LED picture light that I like that's quite cheap from Ikea:

The light plugs into a 3 pin power socket and has a switch attached to the cable to turn it on, a bit how you would turn on a bedside lamp. Would it be possible for an electrician to convert the light so that I can turn it on from a traditional wall mounted light switch?

Yes, but the cost might mean you are better finding a proper wall light.

not a wall switch but gives you remote switching if the plug point is inconvenient.

I would like to mount the LED picture light in the hallway, and at £20 from Ikea this is massively cheaper than 'proper' LED picture lights that are wired in through the mains (usually over £100).
